Kenneth Wildes Salons

about us
Kenneth Wildes, owner of the highly successful Kenneth Wildes Salon in Newton, Massachusetts, is considered one of Boston’s best hair stylists. During his 35-year career, he has trained with the top stylists in the world of professional beauty: John Dellaria; Trevor Serbie, London; Irvin Rusk; Vidal Sassoon, California; Bumble & Bumble, New York City; and Toni & Guy, London and Dallas.

Kenneth serves as a hairstylist, mentor and educator to his carefully chosen staff. He is a known for commanding perfection and creativity from his stylists and leads with a demanding presence. These attributes have served him well developing a loyal staff and even more committed clientele.

Philanthropy is an essential part of any professional’s career, and Wildes is no exception. Since 1999, he chose Breast Cancer to be the center of his charitable efforts. Most of Kenneth Wildes Salon clients are women (although men are served also. A common occurrence for Kenneth and his team was finding women in their chairs, stricken with breast cancer, and the side effect of treatment – hair loss.

After losing a close family member to the disease, he decided to act. Partnering with the Faulkner-Sagoff Centre, one of the country’s premier early detection centers, he created “A Beautiful Thing,” a fundraising event to benefit the Centre.

The event grew to include other Salons in Boston and surrounding areas and has grown into a successful event raising significant sums of money during Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Recent philanthropic efforts include the annual “Locks of Love” event which provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis and the Jimmy Fund, which supports cancer research and care at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
